I recently created my personal value list. Knowing my own values helps create boundaries and communicate effectively with my leadership team, improv team, family, and anyone else I collaborate with on projects.
It also helped me figure out my triggers when receiving feedback or when someone else behaves or makes a choice. Knowing this helps me maintain professionalism in situations that require it or again communicate what feelings are emerging in the moment.
It's pretty simple process. Just brainstorm your values and then see which ones rank higher. After you do that you can reflect on how these values have driven you to decisions in your life. It's also important to share it with others.
You can also do this as a family, business, and of course as an improv team. It only helps build you up together and strengthen the bonds that bring you together.
As an example, I am sharing my value system! Try it, see how it works for you.
